Poland-based plugin developer PSP Audioware has released an update for its free PSP PianoVerb (reverb effect) plugin. This brand was founded by two friends just out of university, Antoni Ozynski and Mateusz Wozniak, they formed the first professional audio software company in Poland in the year 2000.
• Regarding the update of the PSP PianoVerb plugin, it introduces new compatibility for the native Apple Silicon AAX format, new scaling control with added drop-down functionality and the automation name of the controls was added to the suggestions. And in bug fixes we have improvements with the routing of tracks in the DAW Reaper (for more than two audio channels) and some minor bugs.
PSP PianoVerb by PSP Audioware
The PSP PianoVerb plugin is an effect that reproduces (emulates) a special type of reverberation originally provided by piano strings. This reverb effect is generated using twelve string operators with adjustable damping and decay time . Each of these strings is tuned to a particular note starting from A (55Hz) to G# (103.8Hz).
The PSP PianoVerb string system can be transposed in the range of +/-24 semitones (TRANSPOSE), tuned within a range of +/-100 cents, and out of tune (TUNE). " Transposing to octaves lower produces a bigger, less resonant sound similar to traditional reverbs, while transposing to octaves higher produces a very bright harp effect. "
• Important: PianoVerb is not a piano-only reverb, this is a reverb that simulates using a piano as a reverb, it's an old technique of plucking the strings of a piano and putting something heavy on the damper pedal. This allows the strings to resonate freely in response to any sound that is loud enough to excite any string of the appropriate pitch.
