HY-Delay 4 FREE VST/AU Plugin Free Download
HY-Plugins has released HY-Delay 4 Free, the latest version of their freeware delay VST/AU plugin based on the HY-Delay 4 effect.
The ducker module, which lowers the volume of the delayed signal when the incoming audio kicks in, is the most notable new feature in HY-Delay 4 Free. This option is useful when you need to add some delay to a lead vocal while still ensuring that the lyrics are clearly heard. The attack and release parameters control the timing of the ducking effect, while the sensitivity knob controls the threshold value below which the delayed signal goes silent.
Of course, you can achieve the same effect by sidechaining any other delay plugin within your DAW's internal mixer. Having said that, the built-in ducker in HY-Delay 4 Free is extremely convenient and simple to use. If I need to quickly create a ducking delay effect, I'd rather use an elegant solution like this one than patching things manually inside the digital audio workstation.

HY-Delay 4 Free also has a number of other intriguing features. To create wider sounding stereo delays, the delay time in the left and right stereo channels can be unlinked. Furthermore, the plugin can be used in ping pong delay mode, which causes the delay signal to bounce between the left and right audio channels. The delay module also has a cross-feedback knob, as well as a pair of filters and a 3-band parametric EQ for adjusting the tone of the delayed signal.
