Exc!te Cymbal & Snare Drum - instruments: Vst/Au plugins
The developer company Chair Audio ('The Center for Haptic Audio Interaction Research') based in Weimar - Germany has released the free Exc!te Cymbal plugin, and a Pro (paid) version is also coming. Also a few years ago they released the Exc!te Snare Drum, also with a free version and a Pro (paid), so I will take advantage of sharing information about them. These plugins synthesize percussion instruments (using physical modeling synthesis), respectively a Cymabal and a Snare.
Exc!te Cymabal - Chair Audio
The Exc!te Cymbal plugin features an "ultra-realistic" cymbal sound through physical modeling. You can use MIDI notes to activate the built-in exciter, change the
Tip Hardness and Bell Intensity parameters. "For added realism, MIDI triggered values can be fitted with a probability curve." The driver feeds a waveguide resonator algorithm that allows you to change tuning, decay, and damping.

The Exc!re Snare Drum plugin features an "ultra-realistic" snare/tara sound through physical modeling. You can use MIDI notes to activate the built-in exciter and change the
Tip Hardness and Rimshot parameters. For added realism, MIDI triggered values can be fitted with a bell-shaped probability curve. The exciter powers a waveguide resonator algorithm that allows you to change Drumhead tuning, Snares tension, and Hit Position.
