Dark1176 RevA by Maniac Audio – FREE Compressor Plugin (Limited Time)
Availability checked October 11, 2026: the original Dark1176 RevA product/download page is no longer available. We cannot verify a legitimate current free download of that version, so this article's Download option is disabled. The original article URL is retained for readers following older links.
What this older offer covered
Dark1176 RevA was presented here as a Maniac Audio FET-style compressor offer. This archived coverage is not a claim that the old promotion remains active or that a current product is identical to that release.
The current developer listing
Maniac Audio now lists Dark76, a paid compressor product. The current page showed €30 at this check; pricing may change. Do not assume that its licence, installer, specifications or preset compatibility apply to the older RevA offer.
If you already have the old plugin
Keep your original installer and licence information. Before opening an older session on a new computer, check with the developer about compatibility and install only files from a source you trust. A similarly named compressor may not recreate the same settings or automation.
Using FET-style compression
For an existing licensed compressor, start with conservative gain reduction on a vocal or drum track. Compare processed and bypassed signals at similar perceived loudness. A faster attack can soften the start of a hit; a slower attack can preserve more transient impact. Adjust release while listening for unwanted pumping. These are general workflow suggestions, not a hands-on test of Dark1176.
The illustration shows input peaks and a level-controlled output; it is original Deadloops artwork, not a screenshot of Dark76 or the unavailable RevA interface.
